I moved out of Colorado Springs but if I was still living there, this would be my parish. Very beautiful and reverent ad orientem mass with solid homilies and a very welcoming community. The pastor seems really invested in the parish and the focus is on the spiritual life which I've seen really lacking in most other parishes. They also have an intense devotion to Mary and Divine Mercy which are my passions. They are blessed to have Fr Michael Goodyear as their guide.

We attended when mass was held in the Patriot Learning Center. Have moved out of state since. While the new church is absolutely beautiful, we found it disturbing that the priest has his back turned to the congregation during the consecration. With the amount of children attending the 4 PM mass, the homily was pretty prolonged and repetitive in message. As we visit family several times a year in Falcon, we will attend mass elsewhere.

In response to reviewer Red Cove:
The St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Benedict Catholic Church is a small group of volunteers who help people within a specific area. We must only help people in certain geographic locations (zip codes) so that people don't abuse the system. Anyone who is out of our area is going to have to find help from another source. Manitou Springs residents are always referred to West Side Cares. I am following the rules, so that those who need help in our area can get the help they need. The standards and procedures are set out by the SVdP Council for each Conference to follow.
I offered you (Red Cove) multiple pages of additional resources for El Paso County, which you flatly refused. Most folks are happy to obtain resources even if we can't help them otherwise.

It may take some time for WSC to get back to you, since you've only given them a few hours to return your call. I hope your request for help to them was humble and kind. Kind requests are probably given higher priority.

St. Benedict Catholic Church is a wonderful place. It is the home of my Church Family. I have been a member for 17 years, and a volunteer as well. I am the current president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Love this parish. Love the small town feel here.
The first thing you will notice about this parish that is different from most is that this one meets for Mass in a school gymnasium. The reason for this is that this parish is still quite New and has not been able to raise the funding necessary (yet) to build a chapel. This in itself is one of the main reasons I come here. These people are not here because of an elaborate building with big beautiful stained glass windows. They are simply here to commune with Christ and each other and to hear the word. It doesn't get any better than that.

I’m a mom, I called for assistance. It’s been a cold game of telephone tag. I’ve been told the same information on all 15 voicemails (their calls do not ring). They also do not communicate with the other groups of volunteers, so I’ve been bombarded with calls now, giving me the SAME info = “You’re outside of the zip code area, we can’t help you or your baby.” Then I get a voicemail from Dee Dee (09/12/22), when I return her call- just the way she answered the phone was a HUGE red flag. She sounds like a machine so I wasn’t sure if it was even a real person, she repeated my questions verifying who she was and why she was calling, she asked me the same questions… When I told her I was return HER call back, that’s when she introduces herself… “Oh!” it was very unprofessional. She hangs up on me a total of 3 times, because I tell her that I’ve already been told this information, she got RUDE, condescending, and judgemental.
As a single, HARD working, new mom with a disability, also experiencing severe DV, this is the LAST WAY I would expect to be treated by a “volunteer president of St Ben’s.” I don’t want your list of resources Or anymore repetitive voicemails denying my request for help.

Update: DeeDee Murillo left another voicemail referring me to westside cares.
