I came here for my aunt's funeral. The priest and priestess (is that correct?) were compassionate and amazing. The choir and organ player are heavenly. It's a beautiful church.

A wonderful place to worship. Everyone is welcome. Fr. Ted, Pastor Susan and Mother Amy lead every service engaging the community. Without question I always leave the service with food for thought. It has been a great find for our family.
Thank you.

This has been my church for 30 years. It's always changing as new folks come and we lose the older loved ones. There are many types of worship for all kinds of interests, and the educational offerings "don't make you leave your brain at the door," as we Episcopalians like to say. I believe it has the right mixture of being welcoming and encouraged, but not making anyone feel that they have to stand up if they don't wish to do so. The music is wonderful -- a good way to check out the church might be to come for a Sunday Compline service at 9 pm (every other week). Gorgeous voices fill the church, while the lights are low and the congregation can end their day in quiet contemplation. Or come for kids on the second Sunday of the month.

a fine old protestant episcopal church. underline protestant. good attendance. clean liturgy. decent preaching. prissy ushering. large choir.
very cold coffee hr. no one spoke to this visitor. so i spoke to them; was still not welcome. one person wouldn't stop to introduce herself because a class was starting; she didn't invite me. the frozen chosen live on.
and prosper, looking at the number of people in church, a high percentage of who had white hair.
oh, and one person went so far as to dis the other episcopal church in town. no, no, no. that just won't do.
still, with a lifetime in the episcopal church, i'm assuming it's still a four star church; i'd like to think that when one has been a member there five or six years, it's very fine.

My wife and I felt instantly welcomed when we visited this church a couple times after moving to the Boulder area. The staff and congregation were quick to answer questions and introduce us to people.

This used to be a lovely place. But with the liberalization of the Episcopal Church it has become, mainly from the decades of Fr. Jim McKeown, nothing more than yet another experiment in progressive politics and social work. There is really nothing "Christian" about this Church and congregation and it slavishly follows the secular ideas of all Boulder. I would suggest you investigate the Anglican Church of North America to experience the love of Christ.

It all started when I decided to bolt from the clouds' presence over Chicago. I was just trying to find clear sky. But after finding clear sky in Des Moines on Thursday, I thought I'd also look for a local Sing Along Messiah. No joy in Des Moines, but there was one in Boulder, CO. The St. James Episcopal Church was putting on three performances. Why not, I took down my telescope and camera gear, and hit the road for Boulder Friday night after an excellent event at the Drake Memorial Observatory. I made it to St James Church at 1:55 PM on Sunday. Yes, five minutes before the 2 PM performance began. A fine lady with a Heart of Gold gave me a returned ticket. The church was full, but some dear sopranos and altos let me schooch over them to an inside seat just as the capable director was making the intro announcements.

This Sing Along Messiah was the best and most enjoyable I have ever sung in. Highly Recommended !! 🙂 🙂
